Our Story
It all started with two visionaries, Emmet and Daryl, who connected through a shared passion for pickleball and community development. A mutual friend told Emmet he needed to meet Daryl, someone making waves in the local pickleball scene. Emmet invited Daryl to take a chance on a space that, while marked by blight, was full of promise. He encouraged him to look beyond the present condition and imagine what the area could become with a bold, transformative vision. That meeting sparked the creation of a dynamic pickleball club, built not just to serve athletes but to fuel a broader mission of reshaping both the physical landscape and the opportunities available to local residents. This initiative is about more than just playing pickleball—it’s about sparking economic growth and creating a space where everyone can belong, grow, and thrive through the world’s fastest-growing sport.

Our Coaches
Connor Basnight
With more than a decade in the game and a 5.4 DUPR rating, Connor brings a people-first approach to coaching. He focuses on developing the whole player, not just improving strokes and mechanics. While fundamentals and strategy are essential, he believes confidence, self-awareness, and mindset are what allow players to perform at their best and enjoy the game for the long term.
Connor’s coaching style emphasizes learning through curiosity rather than criticism, helping players trust their instincts, embrace challenges, and stay present throughout the process of improvement. He strives to create an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and empowered to step outside their comfort zones.
Whether working with someone picking up a paddle for the first time or competing at a high level, Connor’s goal is to help each person become a more confident player, a better teammate, and someone who carries the lessons learned on the court into everyday life.
Maddy Beasley
Maddy brings nearly two decades on the court to her coaching, with 19 years of tennis and 5 years of pickleball; she's spent two years turning that into teaching, helping players build real skills that last.
Maddy is PPR Certified and SafeSport Certified, and her coaching style is all about the fundamentals; she believes mastering basics in form and technique unlocks long term growth. Lessons with Maddy are upbeat, positive, and built to keep you confident every step of the way.
When she's not coaching, Maddy is a full time elementary music teacher, so kiddos on the court with her are in good hands; patience comes naturally to her.
Outside of coaching, you'll find Maddy reading, hiking, or paddle boarding.
Ann Boes
Ann has played pickleball since 2021 and coached since 2025, bringing a genuine love for the game to every lesson. She's Level 1 Certified by IPTPA and always working to improve her own game, using lessons from her teachers in her classes.
Ann loves helping players recognize their strengths and spot small changes that make a real difference in their play. She believes finding the right coach is personal; not every coach fits every player, and every player is on their own pickleball journey.
Off the court, Ann's world revolves around her family: her husband, three kids, and her 91 year old aunt. Now retired, her husband and Ann enjoy traveling and playing pickleball together. Ann also volunteers at her local elementary school.
